DIY Flower Garland

Posted by on juin 6, 2012 in DIY - Do It Yourself! | 3 Comments

The sun’s out, summer has begun, flowers are blooming, let’s make a flower garland for your house! Here’s what you need:

  • Flowers and foliage
  • Organic rope
  • Scissors
  • Marker (optional)
  • Pins or nails

Flower tips: Pick your flowers in the morning (when their water content is highest, still fresh and not exposed to the warmth of the day). Make sure you cut enough stem to be able to attach it. Also, keep them in the fridge in some water until you begin. Be surreptitious if you’re stealing flowers from parks or your neighbor’s garden (just kidding, don’t steal).

Prepare your bouquets.

Once you’re done with your bouquets, cut the desired length of rope you’d like to use. Give it some extra inches so you can hang it later.

Start knotting your bouquets. Make sure they’re all at an equal distance from each other. Use a marker prior to attaching them if necessary.

Use pins or nails to hang the garland and voilà! Have fun making your own!

Such a simple, but pretty, DIY!
Great way to bring a little bit of Spring/Summer indoors. Having real flowers indoors does wonders for a person’s mood. Thanks for sharing this :)
