Marie-Laurence and Simon, a late twenties couple fell in love with their condo as soon as they visited it. Located in the heart of Saint-Jean Baptiste in Haute-Ville, Québec, they managed to work with the architectural details of this early 20th century habitat, mixing modern furniture and antique with ease. Decorated on a budget, Marie says the couple explored design and carpentering to create their own decor. A lot of the furniture was handmade, mostly inspired from garage sales finds. The bed, for instance, is made of selvage wood and the bedroom lamp what build from a dumped hen cage around which she wrapped scrap jute fabric she scored in an estate sale. Proving there are no limits to DIY ; in the living room, you’ll find a thrifted chair reupholstered with a floral… tablecloth! Why not?
