DIY hair bow

Made from a very small gauge wool, acrylic or cotton thread, these hair bows are to die for and are pretty easy to do! If you are totally new to knitting, I suggest you check out this tutorial (pardon the music...) it will give you the basics for the technique shown here! So you've got your skills dialed in? Let's go! If you want more of a summer look for you bow, choose a cotton thread instead of wool!

Material needed:
- scissors
- wool or cotton thread
- assorted needles (see on wool package to match your needle to your thread's gauge)

Difficulty: 4/5

Start by casting on 13 to 15 loops:

Knit a 13 x 13 or 15 x 15 square piece using the basic stitch technique (called point mousse, which is the easiest!) :

With thread and needle, fold your square in two keeping the pattern horizontal.  You can use the invisible stitch technique show on this tutorial

Also stitch both ends to create a perfect bow:

Once all done with the stitching, pinch your bow right in the middle and wrap the center with thread, hiding your knot at the back.

Slip a bobbypin in the middle of the bow and VOILÀ! :)
