Have you ever had Matcha tea? Matcha is finely ground japanese green tea and can simply be added to a cup of hot water. No need to infuse and then discard the tea leaves, the powder easily dissolves in the water. Inspired by the hot version of the Matcha tea lattes I had in Japan, I decided to create a recipe for a summer setting and have it iced instead. And it’s actually much easier to make! You can find Matcha tea in most health stores or specialized tea shops. Hope you give it a try! xo
Ingredients for 1 serving:
- 1 tsp macha tea
- 2 oz hot water
- 6 oz milk of your choice
- sweetner (honey gives a nice texture)
- ice cubs
- Pour 1 tsp of macha in a cup and add 2 oz of hot water (don’t over heat, bring just to a boil). Stir until the matcha becomes a paste.
- Add milk + sweetner + ice cubs, mix and that’s it!
